Hi Friends and Neighbors –

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is gearing up, and the most delicious holiday of the year is here – Thanksgiving!

There are many Thanksgiving events in the Inland Empire this year, from volunteering to Turkey Trots to performances.

It’s time to count your blessings with friends, family and loved ones and give thanks for what you have… and then dig into turkey, stuffing and pie!

11/26, 28-30, Festival of Trees – The Riverside County Regional Medical Center Foundation’s annual Festival of Trees runs through Sunday at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. Check out the flyer for schedule of events. Admission is free.

11/27, Thanksgiving Dinner  – Free community Thanksgiving dinner provided by Central Community Christian Fellowship on Thanksgiving from 12-2 p.m. Eat at location or ask for delivery. Volunteers and donations welcome, see page for more information.

11/28, Festival of Lights – The Riverside annual Festival of Lights switch-on ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m at The Mission Inn. Show  includes fireworks, live performances and more.

11/29, Car Show –  Bo Huff Rockabilly Extravaganza car show from 9 a.m. till dark at the Riverside Municipal Airport. Live music, vendors, tattoo artists, pin-up contest and more. Spectator admission is $10, parking is $10, kids 15 and under free. See site for car show entry information.



11/27-30, Shooting – Redlands Shooting Park ATA Thanksgiving Shoot competition.  Events start at 9 a.m. each day, cash awards and trophies. RV camping available.

11/27, 5K Run  – Redlands Turkey Trot 5K and Kids 1 K Fun Run at Sylvan Park. Kid’s race begins at 7:30 a.m., 5K at 8 a.m. Bring canned food for Inland Harvest and get $5 discount on registration – kids regular admission is $20, general is $35. Proceeds benefit Phoenix Hope International and Redlands Educational Partnership Foundation.

1/29-12/30, Theater – “It’s A Wonderful Life!” at LifeHouse Theater. Tickets are $14-18 for adults, $7-9 for children 3-11, price goes up $1 day of show. See website for performance schedule.



11/27, Free Dinner – Free Thanksgiving meal at St. Paul’s Merthodist Church from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Full Thanksgiving meal and clothes closet. Donations and volunteers welcomed, call church for details.

11/29, Winterfest – Winterfest celebration to coincide with Small Business Saturday from 3-9 p.m. in historic uptown Yucaipa. Snow play, carolers, vendors, holiday concert and tree lighting ceremony.



11/24-26, 29, Adoptions – The City of Corona’s Animal Shelter is waiving the $15 adoption fee for any animals with black markings as part of “Black Friday Week”. Spay and neuter and licensing fees still apply. Shelter closed 11/27-28.

11/28, Rock ‘n’ Remember – It’s a party through the soundtrack of your life! Rock ‘n’ Remember will trace 50 years of rock with three of Southern California’s most killer cover bands. 11/27, 5K Run –  Claremont Sunrise Rotary annual Turkey Trot 5K and 1K Kid’s Fun Run through the Claremont Colleges and Village area. Pre-registration is $35 for adults, $20 for children under 13, race day registration add $5. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., races start at 7:30.

11/27, 5K Run – 7th annual Upland Turkey Trot 5K run and 1K Kiddy Trot around San Antonio Park area. Early registration is $25 for 5K, $15 for Kiddy Trot 10 years and younger. Late registration for 5K $30 day of event.  See website for online registration.



11/29, Concert – Trans-Siberian Orchestra performs their rock opera “The Christmas Attic” at the Citizen’s Bank Arena with two performances beginning at 3 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.50-60.50, parking is $10 cash only.



Thanksgiving Dinner –  Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. hosted by The Salvation Army. Free hygiene and household items to be given away. Call for information and volunteering.



11/27, Turkey Trot  – Second annual Turkey Trot through Big Bear with 3, 6 or 9 mile courses beginning at 9 a.m. Costume contests for best bear and turkey, registration is $40-50.

11/28, Tree Lighting – Tree Lighting and celebration of Santa’s arrival at the Village beginning at 5 p.m. Santa arrives in his sleigh and will be visiting on the weekends until Dec. 21st.



11/27, Thanksgiving Buffet – Thanksgiving Day buffet at the Terrace Restaurant at the Palm Springs Hilton from 12-7 p.m. $29.95 adults, $14.95 children 6-11, see flyer for dinner menu and reservation information.

11/27, Ride n’ Dine  – Thanksgiving tram rides on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Ride n’ Dine tickets are $36 for adults and $23.50 for ages 3-12 and include a Thanksgiving dinner at Pines Café from 11-8:30 p.m. Reservations recommended.

11/27, 5K Run –  Thanksgiving Day 5K benefiting Martha’s Village and Kitchen through Palm Springs or Palm Desert’s El Paseo beginning at 8 a.m. Registration is $40 for adults, $32 for ages 6-12. See website for registration details for both courses.



11/27, Thanksgiving Dinner – Thanksgiving dinner by reservation at South Coast Winery Resort and Spa ‘s Vineyard Rose restaurant from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Choice of entrees including traditional turkey dinner from $40-44, traditional turkey dinner for kids 12 and under including dessert for $17.

11/27, Thanksgiving Dinner – Thanksgiving dinner at Bailey’s in Old Town Temecula from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Dinner includes turkey, ham or salmon entree, starter and dessert. $32.95 a person, kids 10 and under $14.95.

11/28-1/4, Winterfest – Santa arrives at Pennypickle’s Workshop at 6 p.m. Winterfest continues with light show on City Hall and events throughout December.

11-28-3o, Ballet – The Nutcracker performed by the Inland Valley Classical Ballet Theater at the Old Town Community Theater Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $20-24.
