RIVERSIDE THINGS TO DO

11/30, Berlin, Patty Smyth and Scandal – Travel back to the ’80s at 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside with these classic rockers! Tickets start at $40.15.

Thru 12/1, Kinetic Conversations – A faculty dance concert will be held at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday at the Landis Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15; seniors, students and children are $10.

12/2, Masters of Harmony Holiday Season Celebration — Enjoy some a capella choral music at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Performing Arts Center. Tickets start at $33.25. Perfect for the entire family.

12/2, First Sundays– From 1 to 4 p.m every first Sunday, children and teens can check out FREE programs such as making Festival of Lights painted medallions at the Mission Inn Museum or  decorating reindeer and elf puppets at the Fox Theater.

Thru 12/8, Hell’s Union – Check out this unique exhibit of the Hell’s Union Motorcycle Club Cuts as American Folk Art at the UCR/California Museum of Photography.

Thru 1/10/13, Riverside Art Museum –  “Painting in Pixels: An Exhibition of Concept Art” continues. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $5; members and children 12 and younger are FREE.

 

MORENO VALLEY THINGS TO DO

Thru 12/2, “A Prelude to Christmas” – A community creche and choir festival will run this weekend at the Moreno Valley Stake Center. The event includes more than 1,000 nativities and Christmas music.

 

SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY THINGS TO DO 

11/30-12/1, National Orange Show Art Auction – Rare collectibles and antique furniture will be amongst the items for a silent auction.  Sale is to raise money for scholarships and equipment for an art center.  Event will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at 689 South E St. Silent auction bidding ends at 11 a.m. Saturday.  Contact Ernie Garcia at erdogar2@roadrunner.com or  909-862-3668 for more information.

12/2, Redlands YMCA Holiday Home Tour – Self-guided tour of six of the city’s amazing homes on Kimberly Crest decorated for the holidays. The tour will be 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 the day of the tour.

Thru 12/30, “Miracle on 34th Street” – The Christmas classic is being performed by the Redlands LifeHouse Theater company and opening night is Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

CUCAMONGA VALLEY THINGS TO DO

12/1, Ontario Reign vs. Alaska Aces – Face-off is at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tickets start at $10.

12/1, Free Books for Christmas — The Kiwanis Club of Ontario Parkway will be handing out FREE books to children (up to age 13) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday at its booth at D Street and Euclid Avenue.

12/2, Band Concert — The Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band will perform for FREE from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium.

CHINO VALLEY THINGS TO DO 

11/30-12/2, The Young Americans Show Choir – The 50th anniversary celebration of the world’s first show choir, based in Corona, will perform this weekend at the La Mirada Theater.  Think “Glee” comes to the Inland Empire!

12/1, Dos Lagos Stadium 15 – The FREE Saturday Family Film Series continues this weekend with “Jingle All the Way.”  The movie starts at noon at the Corona theater.

12/2,  Sunday Night ComedI.E. – Every Sunday M15 in Corona is making the IE laugh with a very funny line up.   Plus 1/2 off all appetizers, $3 domestic drafts.  Events are 18+ only and doors open at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $15.

 

POMONA VALLEY THINGS TO DO 

12/1, Breakfast with Santa – Bring the kids and your camera to the Gibson Senior Center in Upland this Saturday for this annual holiday feast. Children can have their picture taken Santa Claus and bring their “wish lists.”  Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required.

12/1, Book Lovers Book Sale – The Friends of the Claremont Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

12/1, Holiday Craft Fair – Fontana’s Lewis Library will hold a holiday craft fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

12/2, Pomona Swap Meet – Head to the last Swap Meet of the year from 5-2 p.m. and don’t forget your 2013 poster at Midnight Impression’s booths on the main isle.  It’s the West Coast’s Largest Antique Auto, Corvette, Porsche, Street Rod and Volkswagen Swap Meet and Classic Car Show!

12/2, Comedy Night – Stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard takes the stage Sunday night at the Bridges Auditorium in Claremont.

Thru 12/2, Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show – More than 200 exhibitors will display their crafts this weekend at the Fairplex in Pomona. The show is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 am. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, $4 for youth and 12 and younger are free.

12/2, Chanukah Festival and Shopping Spree – Temple Beth Israel ‘s annual festival is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in Pomona. Food, fun and shopping!

12/2, Winter Holiday Open House – Enjoy FREE admission, live music, refreshments and children’s crafts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont.

12/2, Arabian Horse Show – Cal Poly Pomona’s W.K. Kellogg Horse Center is the setting for this show set for 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4, children and seniors are $3 and kids under 5 and Cal Poly Pomona students and staff are FREE. Parking is $3.

Thru 12/6, Home for the Holidays House Decorating Contest – The city of Upland Recreation Division is sponsoring a home decorating contest. Check out the city’s website for all the details!

 

HEMET THINGS TO DO

Thru 12/2, “The Subject was Roses” – The Stratford Players presents this portrait of a post World War II family this weekend at The Promise in Hemet. Tickets are $9 for Friday’s show, $10 for Saturday and $12 for Sunday’s matinee.

 

BIG BEAR & LAKE ARROWHEAD THINGS TO DO 

Thru 12/3, Oliver! – The Community Arts Theater Society of  Big Bear Valley presents its final performance of theater beginning this weekend. Tickets range from $19-$28 for adults, $15-$26 for seniors and $9-$19 for those under 18.

 

TEMECULA & MURRIETA THINGS TO DO 

11/30, Grand Lighting CeremonyLorimar Winery in Temecula will kick off  its holiday season Friday. From 5 to 8 p.m., six themed Christmas trees will be illuminated in the tasting room. Carolers will also be serenading the customers.

12/1, Lake Elsinore Outlets Food Truck Festival – From noon – 5p.m. enjoy food trucks while doing some holiday shopping.  Tickets are $10.

12/1, Rummage Sale – The Rotary Club of Wildomar will hold its first rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at DeJong’s Dairy.

Thru 12/9, Candlelight Classics – Temecula Presents and the California Chamber Orchestra presents its annual holiday performance at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Club at the Merc in the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Tickets are $25.

COACHELLA VALLEY & DESERT COMMUNITIES THINGS TO DO 

Thru 11/30, Palm Desert Community Gallery – A new exhibit, “THREE,” opens this weekend and showcases the work of three artists. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

11/30, McCallum Theatre Silver Anniversary Gala – Country music superstar, Reba, headlines this amazing celebration Friday night in Palm Desert. Performance only tickets start at $100.

12/1, Empire Moon – PEN Center USA will presents this unique event with readings and networking event for the local literary arts community, at Ace Hotel & Swim Club.  There will also be a live DJ at this free literary cultural event.

12/1, “A Day With(out) Art” – The Palm Springs Art Museum will present a series of art forms to coincide with World Aids Day beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Admission is FREE.

Thru 12/2, “The Swinging Nutcracker” – Enjoy the California Ballet Opera’s rendition of this classic holiday tale this weekend at the Palm Desert High School Auditorium.  Tickets start at $22.
