12/21, “A Christmas Story” – The Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside will screen the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story” at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $12.05.

12/22, Metrolink Holiday Toy Express Train – This magical train is coming to the La Sierra Metrolink Station at 5 p.m. Saturday.  The train will stop at Corona North Main at 5:45 p.m. the same day and will collect toys for those less fortunate from both locations. There will be a live musical performance, Santa Claus and more!

12/22, Military Appreciation Basketball Game – Free game for all current and former US Military members and their families: UCR vs. Air Force! Tip-off is at 1 p.m.

Thru 12/23, “Christmas Carol: On the Air” – Performance Riverside presents this whimsical version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Landis Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $24.

12/23-2/21, “WHEELS UP” Exhibit – The Riverside Art Museum presents “WHEELS UP: The Wheelchair as Artistic Vehicle” exhibit beginning Sunday and running through Feb. 21. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $5; members and children 12 and younger are FREE.

Thru 1/10/13, Riverside Art Museum –  “Painting in Pixels: An Exhibition of Concept Art” continues. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $5; members and children 12 and younger are FREE.




12/21, Brian Setzer Orchestra “Christmas Rocks Extravaganza – Brian Setzer and his band is rockin’ the San Bernardino California Theatre of the Performing Arts this Friday.    Tickets are $25, $45, $79, $89, $99, available through Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

12/22, “A Hollywood Christmas” – Relive your favorite holiday film music memories at a special show at 8 p.m. Saturday at the California Theatre of the Performing Arts. Tickets range from $38.50 to $75.

Thru 12/30, “Miracle on 34th Street” – The Christmas classic is being performed by the Redlands LifeHouse Theater company and opening night is Saturday at 7:30 p.m.



12/21, Moscow Boys Choir – Russia’s most prestigious all-male choir presents “Christmas Around the World” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lewis Family Playhouse in Riverside. General admission is $23, seniors are $21, and $18.50 for youth.

12/21, Charles Dickens Carolers Quartet – Come enjoy some traditional carolers from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

12/22, Ontario Reign – Face off is at 7 p.m. against  the San Francisco Bulls on Friday and the Idaho Steelheads on Saturday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tickets range from $10 to $50.

Thru 12/22, “The Nutcracker” – Word in Motion Ballet will perform this holiday classic at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Fontana Women’s Club. D0ors open at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $5, and $2 for children under 12.



Thru 12/21, Winter Wish Food Drive – A food drive benefiting families in Beaumont and Cherry Valley will be held through Friday. Postal customers in the 92223 zip code are asked to put dry, packaged, or canned food donations by their mailboxes. Postal carriers will pick up the donations.



12/21, Chino Hills Boat Parade – The annual boat parade, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Chino Hills, is set for 7 p.m. Friday. Spectators are urged to arrive early if they want to secure a spot along Peyton Drive or Boys Republic Road.

12/21, Old-Fashioned Country Holiday – Heavens Ranch Rescue will hold its second annual Christmas in the Hills Tree Lighting Fundraiser from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday in Chino Hills. Holiday festivities include Santa pictures, face painting, vendors, music and more! The event is FREE.

12/22, Christmas in Corona – The Hope Recovery Center, in conjunction with the Corona Community AME Church and a host of local charitable organizations, is hosting a free toy giveaway, Christmas caroling, a Christmas play and goodies for those in need from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church on East Sixth Street.

12/22, Dos Lagos Stadium 15 – The FREE Saturday Family Film Series continues this weekend with “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”  The movie starts at noon at the Corona theater.



12/23, Messiah Sing – The annual Claremont community sing-along, presented by the Claremont Symphony Bridges Hall of Music, will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday. The performances are FREE.



Thru 12/23, “Scrooge’s Christmas” – This holiday  musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday (additional 2:30 p.m. show on Saturday and Sunday) at Tahquitz High School in Hemet. Tickets are $10. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for the Hemet Community Party.

Thru 1/2, Annual Christmas Bird Count – The National Audubon Society begins its annual Christmas bird count at 8 a.m. Saturday at Lake Skinner. The count will extend  to Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet. The Idyllwild count starts at 8 a.m. Sunday at the Lake Hemet store in the San Jacinto Mountains.



12/22, Guided Snowshoe Tours – Enjoy the fresh snow from 9 a.m.t o 4 p.m. Saturday at the Big Bear Discovery Center through a guided snowshoe tour. Take a trek through the San Bernardino National Forest as you learn to snowshoe and explore the beautiful environment. Call for additional information.

Thru 12/30, Crafters and Bazaar Antiques – Shop for handmade crafts and antiques at the Lake Arrowhead Village Crafters & Antiques Bazaar.  Located between Claire’s and Mr. G’s Toys.  Open Tue-Sun 10-7 pm.  It’s chilly out there now after sundown so remember to bring a good jacket, scarf and some gloves for night strolling.  :)



12/21-12/22, Polar Express at Pennypickles Workshop  – Hop aboard the Polar Express from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Pennypickle’s Workshop at the Temecula Children’s Museum. Kids can learn all about this amazing story through a variety of crafts. Pajamas are recommended attire. Tickets are $25 each for children only. Adults will not be allowed to stay, and reservations are required. Ticket price includes dinner.

12/21, Free Holiday Movie Screening – Come see a FREE screening of “Miracle on 34th Street” at 7 p.m. Friday in the quad in front of the Temecula Civic Center. In event of rain, the movie will be moved indoors.

12/21-12/23, Magic Snow Thrills – At the Promenade Temecula Outdoor Plaza, in front of the Edwards Theatre, enjoy an exciting snowfall performance includes festive lights, holiday music and fun for all to enjoy.  Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Shows are scheduled Friday, December 7 to Sunday, December 23.

Thru 12/23 – “The Nutcracker” – The Ballet Studio in Temecula in association with Fine Arts Network Theatre Co. presents this holiday classic at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Tickets are $22 to $29.



12/22, Art Council Holiday Sale – 20% off everything on new & used art supplies, kids crafts, books, and other art supplies at the Donation=Creation Artist Supply Thrift Store in Joshua Tree

Thru 1/1, Holiday Book Drive – Barnes & Noble at Westfield Mall is sponsoring its annual book drive, which will benefit the Coachella Valley BookPALS and SafeHouse of the Desert.
