Hi Friends & Neighbors –

Who’s ready to get this weekend started?  We’ve been busy giving away tickets to the California Beer Festival and setting up new deals in our coupon section that the weekend really snuck up on us.  No matter how busy you are I hope you’ll take the time to enjoy yourself at one of our Inland Empire weekend events.  We’ve got a list of fun things happening all across the Inland Empire.

8/23, Hitchcock Fridays – Come see “I Confess” at 7:30 p.m Friday at the Fox Performing Arts Center. The film festival will sport a different 1940s or 1950s Alfred Hitchcock movie each week through August 30, 2013.

8/24, Become a Volunteer – Learn how to become a Heritage House Volunteer at a continental breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Heritage House in Riverside. Reservations required.

8/24-8/25, One Act Festival – Gold Leaf Theatre holds its first summer One Act Festival at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at California Citrus Park in Riverside. Enjoy an evening of comedy, suspense, melodrama and more! Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Tickets are $8 each or $14 for both nights.ers

8/25, Public Run Day – The Riverside Live Steamers are holding a Public Run Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hunter Hobby Park in Riverside.



8/23, Library Celebration – Join the Highland Branch of the San Bernardino Library as it celebrates its centennial from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the San J. Racadio Library and Environmental Learning Center.

8/23, Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival -Fireworks finale! Yana Reznik, guest piano soloist, performs beginning at 8:15 p.m. Friday. Admission is FREE.

8/24, Brad Paisley Concert – Country crooner Brad Paisley, with special guests Chris Young and Lee Brice, take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday at San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino. Tickets start at $26.

8/24, Opera Gala – Redlands Opera Theatre’s primary fundraiser features a opera repertoire by Mozart, Peccini and more. Silent auction, raffle, wine reception and hors d’oeuvres. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Congregation Emanu El of Redlands. Tickets are $50 per person; $25 for students and those under 21.

Thru 8/24, Redlands Theatre Festival – FINAL WEEKEND! The 40th season of this amazing fest continues this weekend at Prospect Park and features many amazing productions such as “The Importance of Being Earnest,” “The Andrews Brothers” and “Hairspray.” Single performance tickets start at $20; season tickets start at $80

8/25, Brunch at The Wine Tailor – From 11-2 p.m. enjoy a special brunch provided by Buttercup Catering at The Wine Tailor.  Menu items will make you drool!

Thru 8/25, Ontario Improv – Comedian Lahna Turner takes the stage this weekend at Ontario Improv. Showtimes are 10 p.m. Friday, 9 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $17.

Thru 8/25, “Singing the Golden State” – FINAL WEEKEND! The Ontario Museum of History and Art exhibit continues this month. It focuses on the graphic sheet music covers that celebrate California published from 1849 to the 1930s. The museum is open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is FREE.

Thru 8/25, “The Underpants” – FINAL WEEKEND! Adapted by Steve Martin, this theater production is guaranteed to make you laugh.  Risque frivolity and madcap antics make this play a hilarious and totally irreverent piece of theatre! (Due to adult themes and content, this play is not suited for young audiences.) Tickets $14 at the Lewis Family Playhouse.



8/24, Corn Feed Run – The Chino Kiwanis’ Corn Feed Run Car Show and Cruise is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Olde Town Chino. Music, food, drawings and trophies!

8/24, Food Truck Festival – Corona’s Gourmet Food Truck Festival and a Taste of Dos Lagos featuring area restaurants and eateries runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Shops at Dos Lagos. Proceeds benefit Make-a-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire.



8/25, Two Milk Minimum – Enjoy a family-friendly comedy show at Flappers Comedy Club (Packinghouse side).  Tickets are $10.

Thru 9/2, Blue Star Museum Days – The Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden offers FREE admission for all active-duty military personnel, their immediate family members and Veterans. Does not apply to special events.

Thru 9/8, The Sound of Motown – Catch all of the best Motown classics in a special musical revue at the Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theater in Claremont. Times and admission prices vary.

Thru 10/25, Claremont Friday Nights Live! – Free concerts are held at the Village Square Public Plaza (by Laemmle 5 Theatres), in front of the Claremont Chamber, 205 Yale Avenue and at City Hall Plaza, Second St west of Harvard Ave.

8/23-8/25, Yoga Festival – Are you a fan of yoga or maybe new to it – that’s ok! Head to Big Bear for this 3-day festival of all things yoga.  There are fun activities, yummy food, music and meditation planned – all with the backdrop of the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. Tickets and camping still available.

8/24, Relay for Life – Big Bear’s community fundraising walk begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Park. This walk benefits the American Cancer Society.

8/24, Air Fair – From 9-4 p.m. you can ooh and ahh at vintage Warbirds, B-25s and more at the Air Fair held at the Big Bear City Airport.

8/25, Tribute Concert – The Police Experience, a Police tribute band, plays at noon Sunday at The Cave in Big Bear.

8/25, Jazz on the Lawn – Enjoy one of the top traditional jazz bands – Titanic Jazz Band – on the lawn at the Knickerbocker Mansion. Tickets are $20. Concert starts at 3 p.m.



8/24, Relay for Life – Rialto’s Relay for Life begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Eisenhower High School. This community fundraising walk benefits the American Cancer Society.



8/23, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy – Come listen to the Go Daddy-O swing revival band at 6 p.m. Friday at Wiens Family Cellars in Temecula. Tickets start at $45. Proceeds benefit local charities.

8/24, Jazz Concert – Acclaimed jazz instrumentalist Chris Botti performs at 7 p.m. Saturday at Thornton Winery in Temecula. Tickets start at $95.

8/23, Hot Summer Nights – This Summer-long event happens every Friday in Old Towne Temecula.  Here’s the line up for this weekend: Bayou Brothers at Sam Hicks Park, Bill Magee at Harmony Lot,  Nitro Express at 5th & Front streets, Safety Orange at Baily’s and Jolly Jump at Sam Hicks Park. All activities are FREE from 6-10 p.m.

Thru 8/24, Shakespeare in the Vines – FINAL WEEKEND! The Taming of the Shrew is wrapping up at the Europa Village.  Tickets $15-$28.



8/23, Career Fair – Palm Springs Career Fair is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs. Applicants should bring a resume and list of professional references.

8/23, Dive-In Movies – SEASON FINALE! Enjoy Knotts Soak City in Palm Springs’ last Dive-In Movie of the summer. Grab a tube or take a swim every Friday, from 7 p.m. until the start of the movie. Regular admission is $14 and $10 for Jr/Sr. Parking is FREE; preferred parking is $5. This week, catch “Bridge to Terabithia.”
